Ah, Dry January. A time for us to put down our wine glasses, pick up those water bottles and prepare our bodies and minds for a new year. Easily said, right? At Discover, we know that this can be easier said than done and so we’re here to help you get the most out of Dry January in 2025.
Go Bowling
This childhood favourite is a GREAT activity to do while sober! Bowling alleys will provide mocktails or alcohol-free refreshments, too – so you won’t feel like you’re missing out. Plus, it can be fun whether you’re with the whole family or just a few friends.
Pottery
We know you’ve been wanting to try pottery forever and Dry January offers the perfect excuse to pick up that clay and get molding! Who knows, you could even create a new vessel to hold that 0% gin…
Pamper yourself!
Head to a day spa with friends or make it a weekend-long event. You could even pop to your local high street and pick up a few bits like a face mask, cucumber & a new towel to create an ‘at home’ spa if leaving the house isn’t in your plans!
Walks/Trails
Walking trails are a fantastic way to discover the hidden gems around you while also getting some much-needed fresh air. On The Discover App, we have free trails to help you connect with nature as well as some which venture through your local independent shops
Clubs
Joining a club is a great way to meet new people, and they don’t involve alcohol (most of the time)!
On the Discover App you can find:
- Art Clubs
- Social Clubs
- Book Clubs
- Sports Clubs
…and more!
Discover a new hobby
Whether it be knitting, bouldering or dancing, finding a new hobby will get you through dry January and leave your mind feeling fabulous for February! Check out the ‘Do’ section of the Discover App to get you started!
We hope this blog has helped to provide some Dry January inspiration. Dry doesn’t mean boring!
