Discovering Tameside

We are so happy to be working with the wonderful people in Tameside!

Our mission in Tameside is simple, we want people to see why Tameside and the towns within it are so special. This, in turn will drive footfall into it’s towns.

Every time we visit Tameside to introduce ourselves we see first-hand how rich the individual towns are in their own culture and get a ‘vibe’ for the place. For example; Stalybridge had great nightlife (yes – we did try out a couple of shots), Ashton-Under-Lyne has a diverse and cultural market, Mossley possesses incredible green spaces and an intriguing art trail – just to name a few!

It’s so important for us to really ‘dive in’ to the locations we support and here are a few interesting facts we found during our research…

  • Did you know that Stalybridge has recently been announced as Greater Manchester’s Town of Culture?
  • That Ashton received Royal Charter to hold a market in 1413?
  • That the only man to score a hattrick in the world cup final, Geoff Hurst, was born in Ashton and lived in Denton?

The hidden gems of Tameside just keep on giving!

The response we have had from Tameside has been wonderful, we now have over 800 Tameside businesses on the Discover App, all with their own comprehensive profiles providing bios & linking directly to their websites and/or social media. But that’s not all… we have also highlighted the countless events that Tameside has to offer, so that residents and locals don’t have to look very far to find all the info!

We’re already featuring Stalybridge Street Fest (every second Friday of the month from March to December) and Ashton-Under-Lyne are taking part in the Totally Locally Fiver Fest and that’s only in the first month of being on the app!

Tameside also has some incredible local, independent businesses that we can’t wait to get stuck into promoting! Each business has it’s own qualities and regardless of whether they use social media (or even don’t have a website) – we’ll be shouting about them!

We really do look forward helping to promote Tameside and the businesses that each add their own special touch to the towns.
